Our Team
Dr. Janet Youn is the founder of Asian American Dental Society. She earned her D.D.S. from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and completed one year of General Practice Residency. Dr. Youn has been practicing general, cosmetic, and preventative dentistry for over 20 years at her private practice located in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
Dr. Youn is actively involved in many national and local dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, New York Academy of Dentistry, New York County Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Association of Women Dentists. She also serves as a mentor at the New York County Dental Society mentorship program and proudly represented the New York Chapter of American Association of Women Dentists as the former president from 2009-2010.
As a lover of art, Dr. Youn enjoys photography, live music, and exploring varioius cultures. She also enjoys playing tennis and attending the U.S. Open every September in Flushing!

Dr. Mina Kim, Cofounder
Dr. Mina Kim received her B.A. from Barnard College and D.D.S. from Columbia University where she won the Esthetics Dentistry Award. She completed her residency training at the New York Methodist Hospital in Park Slope, New York, where she earned the Prosthodontics Award.
Currently, Dr. Kim is the president of the New York County Dental Society (2023-2024) and is an active member of the New York State Dental Association, New York County Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. She serves on the executive alumni committee at the College of Dental Medicine and is the fundraising co-chair of the Korean American League for Civic Action.
Dr. Kim practices general and esthetic dentistry at her private practice in Manhattan and enjoys exploring new restaurants and playing squash in her spare time.
Dr. Vera Tang, Cofounder
Dr. Vera W. L. Tang, D.D.S., M.S., F.I.C.D, F.A.C.D., is a clinical assistant professor, vice chair, and director of predoctoral periodontics in the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry. Dr. Tang is the recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology Educator Award in 2012 and 2014 and has been inducted into honorary societies, including OKU, New York Academy of Medicine, International College of Dentists, and American College of Dentists.
Dr. Tang received her dental degree with honors from New York University College of Dentistry and earned her certificate in periodontics and masters in dental science from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and practices in Manhattan. She has lectured at regional, national and international events on a variety of dental topics and enjoys being a regular guest on Sirius XM’s Doctor Radio.
Dr. Paul Han, Member Advisor
Dr. Y. Paul Han received his D.D.S. from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, then completed a general practice residency training at the Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and his oral and maxillofacial surgical internship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan (now Mount Sinai West). Dr. Han has been trained in all phases of oral and maxillofacial surgery at New York Medical College-Westchester Consortium, Level I trauma center, where he served as a chief resident. He practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with emphasis on dental implants, wisdom teeth extraction, IV anesthesia, and facial reconstruction.
In his spare time, Dr. Han enjoys exploring new restaurants, traveling, and watching sports with his wife and son.
