Our Liaisons

Christine Lee, Columbia University
I love being a student at CDM because it feels like my “home away from home” with students and faculty uplifting one another and fostering an enriching, collaborative learning environment.
As a Korean-American dental student, I want to advocate for future Asian American dental professionals and take the initiative to create this feeling of “home away from home” for others like me. Being a representative of AADS would allow me to be a part of a growing community that creates spaces for engaging discussions and brings together a kaleidoscope of dynamic perspectives, cultures, and talents. I feel very thankful for AADS for bridging this gap, and I am excited to live and learn with this community of bright and curious individuals.
In my free time, I enjoy reading thrillers, strength training, and trying new recipes to cook!

Youri Jung, Columbia University
In our small class sizes, each person brings their own story and perspective to the table, enriching our learning experience in ways I never imagined. I am amazed how despite our differences, we come together to support and uplift one another, creating an atmosphere
that feels like home. Now as I navigate dental school, I wish to find that same tight-knit community where I can connect with others who share similar experiences and backgrounds.Being far away from my family in South Korea, I understand the challenges of feeling disconnected in a new environment. I have always sought groups which foster a sense of belonging and where I could share my cultural identity. By becoming part of AADS, I hope to not only make meaningful connections with other Asian American dental professionals but also create a supportive space where someone like me can feel embraced within the larger dental community.
My current interests include pediatric dentistry, running, and finding the best Vietnamese pho place around NYC.

Jennifer Ko, Touro College of Dental Medicine
I am a part-time orthodontic faculty at Touro and I have to say, my experience here has been very positive from the beginning. The faculty members are very willing to teach and foster a warm environment. This is true for not only for our residents but also the dental students. It has been a joy to be a part of this.
When I look back at my dental career and education, I owe where I am to my mentors and peers who were willing to help me. I wish to do the same for those around me as well. As an Asian American, I am looking forward our community gathering together.
